As today is Friday I thought I would feature a lively group from Belfast called Réalta.
They have been described by Irish Music Magazine as being

A full body pipe and whistle extravaganza.

If you like uilleann pipes and low whistle driven music arranged in some great evocative and meditative sets then this is for you.

They are a lively and invigorating group of musicians, so it’s no wonder they have won awards like the Danny Kyle award at the Celtic Connections Festival and have toured in parts of Europe, America and even India. They have an energy that is sure to keep you dancing into the early hours, just listen to their two vibrant albums and you’ll see what I mean. I believe Darragh has had the pleasure of sharing some tunes and a few pints of Guinness with the band during the Ennis Trad Fest last year!
The tune I have chosen is called Patsy Touhey’s/The Exile Jig/The Yellow Stocking
